We are delighted to be part of such a forward thinking and environmentally concise network. Being members of the Burren Ecotourism Network acknowledges the great work laid down by the generation that came before us and as the number of stakeholders within the Burren Region grows, strengthens the common goals between all of passing on the values shared to us by our parents on to our children.
Ecotourism is defined as”responsible travel to natural areas that conserves the environment and improves the well being of local people.” (TIES,1990)
To achieve sound environmental practices across our entire operation.
To produce an Annual Environmental Plan setting out our Objectives, Targets and planned Actions.
To comply fully with all relevant legislation.
To minimise our waste and reduce our water consumption where possible. Indentifying, fixing and preventing leaks is just one of the ways we do this.
To Reduce, Reuse and Recycle the resources consumed by our business wherever practical. Our Onsite Waste Management and Composting Systems exemplify this.
To invite our customers, visitors, suppliers and contractors to participate in our efforts to protect the environment. Staff awareness of and drawing from The Leave No Trace Seven Principles helps us to achieve this.
To constently and consistently engage with and support our charitable partners within the area like hosting Burrenbeo events.
To openly communicate our policies, respecting the Burren and Cliffs of Moher Geopark Sustainable Code of Practice, to interested parties likes our staff, visitors, suppliers and charitable partners within the Burren and nationally.
To monitor and record our environmental impacts on a regular basis and compare our performance with our policies, objectives and targets.
